Dreamland by Robert L. Anderson

Rating: 4.5 stars

This story follows Odeya, a teenager who is constantly moving.

Odeya is a dream-walker, which means she can walk peoples dreams, she sort of feeds on that, if she doesn't walk then she becomes weak. Odeya's mom has a high suspicion of big bodies of water, mirrors and the dangers that lie in them, and when you find out why, you wouldn't want to go to sleep at night. We meet Connor, a mysterious boy, who just so happens to keep Odeya walking his dreams like a drug. And we don't know why.

Anderson created such a generic work of art, and horrid world, in such a few amount of pages, to actually make me feel like Dorothy. We were most definitely not in Kansas anymore.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a book that I knew was going to explode with publicity, it did also have its aspects, of a slow beginning pace, and too much descriptions, but it was a great entertaining novel that you must read!

Dream-walking does have its rules, 3 rules you MUST follow!

Never interfere

Never be seen

Never walk the same persons dream more than once

Sometimes those rules are meant to be broken, but then sometimes- actually no, lets break them!

I was taken on such an amazing journey, throughout how she walks dreams, and the human world and dream world. I also learned many things, like harbingers and how they are birds that lead you out a lost dream; which reminds me of a show called Over The Garden Wall.

From the dark secrets Connor kept, and how they unravel and change everything in Odeya's life. What is her mom hiding, and why do they have so many grandfather clocks?

Read this book if you love dreams! Read if you love fictional trips like Wizard Of Oz and Alice In Wonderland, definitely go on this adventure. Dreamland is waiting for you!

"Picture a rock dropped into a well, she'd say. Picture all those ripples spreading outward. If the rock was big enough, you can start a flood."

"It was so absurd: she was actually hoping that the boy next to her had extras nipples."

Thank you for reading!
